Hal Richards has had a vested interest in the positive appearance of men in Rome for years, even after giving up his retail storefront on East Third Avenue.

Richards said guys who have always known him would call him up and he would go to them. “Some of the bankers, some of the lawyers and professional men around town have maintained their relationship with me so I go see them and take custom orders,” Richards said.

“I still maintained my relationship with a number of my manufacturers and for all these years on a very small scale, I’ve essentially run a personal clothier operation out of my home,” Richards said. “I do made to measure and custom shirts, sport coats and suits for gentlemen. I keep a small amount of sportswear in stock here.

Among the lines that Richards offers are Bill’s Khakis, Gitman Brothers shirts, Hardwick suits, Cole and Haan shoes and others. He also carries ties, belts, formal accessories and a variety leather accessories.
