The Homestead Restaurant
The Homestead Restaurant’s claim to fame on their website is “the best pinto beans around.” But the restaurant, located at 1401 Kingston Road, has much more than that to offer.
Owner Dean Lewis - who has worked at the restaurant in one capacity or another since 1992 - said that the casual atmosphere and food are just two things that make the restaurant a special place.
The menu - which features steak, seafood and chicken - is also one area where Lewis feels the restaurant delivers what the customers want.
“I try to cater to everyone,” he said. “It has a little something for everyone in the family.”
But Lewis said if the customers aren’t happy with the food, he will make sure that they get something they will be happy with before they leave.
“Customer service is number 1,” he said. “This is a comfortable and cozy place. People will sit and talk long after they’ve finished eating here.”
The Homestead Restaurant is open for dinner only Tuesday through Saturday and for lunch on Sundays. Hour are Tuesday through Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 5 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Lewis said they offer an Early Bird Special during the week and all day on Sundays, along with Boiled Shrimp on the All-You-Can-Eat Salad Bar Tuesday through Thursday.
